Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This dim sum shop usually have chicken rice and wan tan noodle too. Came at Saturday 1pm, surprisingly not many people. This time saw their new item Big Mac Curry Mee, decided to try it out. The noodle came with char siew, siew yok, chicken, and even a prawn inside, consider big portion, price at rm15.80, not bad at all."
"Expanded their business to this new location after the MCO. Doing very well with a wide choice of dim sum which are tastefully prepared. Very good crowds in the mornings, especially weekends. Gives a nostalgic vibe of traditional dim sum houses of years gone by. Recommended."
"Surprising good food. Just the service a bit slow. Arrived early morning 9am on Tuesday, 2/3 tables of customers. The environment is good and clean but the air is terrible. Cooking fumes is everywhere with air conditioning very uncomfortable and difficult to breathe. Price is on the high side average of rm9 per plate."
"A simple old dim sum place, food in general is pretty okay, not the best around, but worth eating. They also serve curry noodles, which is really tasty. At night they diverse to sell other Chinese dishes and some dim sum, surprisingly the Chinese dishes are pretty good."
"First time visiting ever since they shifted to this location. It has been a while since they shifted. Tables are placed at the foyer of the building in addition to the restaurant proper. Dimsum quality has improved. The har kaw is very good with fresh prawns and added flavour from the parsley. Skin is adequately thin testament of the chef's ability. The cheong fun is also very well made. The char siew is really good. It melts in the mouth and have a good balance of lean meat and fats. The siew yok is also good. The accompanied chilli sauce (chicken rice type) was delicious. The shop serves wonton noodles and chicken rice too. The chicken rice is good. Note that the concept in this new location is akin the HongKong dimsum shops where push carts delivers the dimsum. This is not optimal in my opinion as it was challenging for my family and I in getting the service. Space is also limited for the carts to go thru'. Those sitting at blind corners or at the foyer will likely be more challenging in getting dimsums. It would likely be a lot better for orders be placed individually and be delivered straight to the tables. It is more hygienic too. Parking is very challenging which is similar to the situation at the old location. Nevertheless, service is good by the young team of energetic waiters/waitresses."
"Mei Xins Dian Xin, a renowned dim sum restaurant located in Kajang. The new venue impresses with its spaciousness, surpassing their previous location. The restaurant provides a comfortable dining experience with its air-conditioned setting. The menu at Mei Xins Dian Xin offers an extensive selection of dishes, ranging from dim sum to noodles and chicken rice. The service was efficient, as orders were taken manually through checked box choices. I was pleased with the prompt arrival of the food. Regarding taste, the overall experience was satisfactory. However, there were a few standout items that truly delighted our taste buds. The charcoal lava bun and golden prawn roll were particularly delicious and flavorsome. The Honey Sauce Char Siew Wanton Mee also left a positive impression, with its succulent char siew, although the noodles themselves were somewhat lacking in flavor. It's important to note that the dim sum assortments come with a premium price tag, costing approximately RM8.80 per plate, considering the prevailing inflation. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that this restaurant applies both service tax and service charge on top of the total bill. Despite these considerations, whenever I find myself craving a plate of dim sum, I would undoubtedly choose to return to Mei Xins Dian Xin. The comfortable ambiance, efficient service, and delightful dishes like the charcoal lava bun and golden prawn roll make it a go-to destination for dim sum enthusiasts."
"One fine morning a fellow farming community member brought me here. Nice place, fully house and we found a table for 2. We ordered a few items and also Chinese Tea serve in tea pot. It tool some time for the items to arrived as they need to prepare swimming of dimsum. It is fresh and clear taste. Dimsum Point 7/10. Good place. Price is at high side."
"The dim sum tasted good. Portion is reasonable. The price i feel is slightly on higher side but the overall seating and environment is better than the usual dim sum shop. Service is ok. Quite packed during the weekend morning session."
